day 3 promised update on velvet jacket

Today I will talk about the velvet jacket.  Or as my son would say FAIL part 1.  This is the lesson learned in case you are out there planning a velvet garment: you can not use fusible interfacing on velvet.  It buckles and waves and looks terrible.  So again I am stalled until I can get to the fabric store to get some sew in interfacing.

I was very frustrated because I didn’t get any work done on the jacket on Halloween like I intended.  But after this week my schedule loosens immensely so hopefully I will get to the jacket again.  I would like to wear it this year and that gives me until February, maybe March to finish it.  Almost impossible but not quite.
