why i hate couponing

The downside of couponing is the greed.  When saving money it is hard to resist the “it’s so cheap I might as well get it” mindset.  Just because something is cheap or even nearly free doesn’t mean it is a good value.  It may be not be good for my health.  Most coupons are for items that are processed, because it there is more markup.  These are usually the foods that are not as good for my health.
Often in couponing, one gets the best value by buying the smallest size.  This is not good for the environment because it increases the amount of packaging.
However, in spite of these drawbacks, I still love couponing.
