I am in full Christmas sewing time. To protect the innocent, I won’t share the projects yet. But I have big news. My sewing room leaked all over my house.
This sits right across from my computer. I have been watching Netflix and piecing. My sewing room is not heated and it has been a little too cold outside. Also, I have built up a little too much chaos in that room and need to spend some time straightening. I would like to say this is the only bit of sewing equipment in the room, but that would not be true: my iron, ironing pad, templates, rotary cutter, cutting matt plus all my ender leader baskets have relocated to the living room. In fact, my older son came over and said, “Mom, you have taken over the living room.” I prefer “reclaimed my territory”. (Doesn’t mean I still don’t miss him, just that one must make lemonade from lemons).
I have a head cold so I have produced nothing this week… just sat on the couch and did a Raising Hope marathon. Steve has big news- he finished the 3rd (and final) edition of How I met Van and Numan Future Present and Past. It is available on amazon at How I met Van and Numan Future Present and Past.
I made this little angel the last week. I am still not sure if she is finished. She has an old world charm mixed with a roughness that I love.
This was a joint effort. I made the little doll, then Steve painted her and drew her little face.
Looking at the photograph, she may just be too monotone. I plan to try some embroidery this week and perhaps break out the beads.
There is nothing like Christmas crafts to make me get in the spirit of Christmas!
As you can see this piece is almost done – one stripe left to sew. However, this is a skirt so I still have the back to go.
I have been working on this for over a month. It is slow going but I love the way it looks.
Last Christmas I made a denim quilt with a polar fleece back. I asked my husband to remove the pins while he watched football. He fell in love with the warmth and weight of the quilt and asked me to make one for him. Now it is nearly done. He chose all of the fabric that is not denim. The plaid fabric is from Paul’s old flannel shirt.
I am hoping to get it pin basted today.
